Two Coral Springs educators are finalists for the Broward County Schools Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year Award

Coral Springs, Florida – Among the contenders for an award that honors exceptional professional and technical educators in the Broward County Public Schools are two Coral Springs educators.

Mitchell Albert has eighteen years of experience working in the school system as a DECA adviser and hospitality instructor at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

With 28 years of expertise in the classroom, Howard Kimelstein teaches engineering at Coral Glades High School.

Two of the eight finalists for the Second Annual Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year Awards, which honor educators who have made outstanding contributions to the profession, are Albert and Kimelstein.

“CTE teachers are crucial in shaping the future workforce,” BCPS Superintendent Dr. Peter B. Licata said in a press release. “Their dedication to fostering skills and nurturing talent directly impacts student success and our community’s overall economic prosperity,”

On Thursday at the DoubleTree Hotel Sunrise – Sawgrass Mills, the awards will take place at 7 p.m.
