Winners Announced for “The Importance of Voting” Virtual Poster Contest

Coral Springs, Florida –Early voting has officially kicked-off in the City of Coral Springs and though youth under 18 are ineligible to vote, it is still a critical time for young residents to understand the importance of democracy and our civic responsibilities as adults. To amplify the voices of our youth, the City of Coral Springs Customer Involved Government Committee hosted “The Importance of Voting” virtual poster contest for Coral Springs students in grades K-12 and have officially selected the winners.
Amazed with the creativity and professionalism of the students who participated in the contest, Mayor Scott Brook said, “I am so proud of the work students put into designing their posters to promote voting. It is rewarding to see our youngest residents use their creativity to help communicate the importance of this civic responsibility. I applaud every young person who participated and extend my congratulations to the contest winners.”
A first, second and third place winner was selected for each grade division and their poster submissions will be featured on our city’s website. The winning posters will be shared on our social media platforms throughout early voting. Additionally, the Coral Springs Museum of Art will display all the winning posters.
Winners will receive a certificate of recognition during a future City Commission meeting. Recipients being honored are:
