Coral Springs, Florida – We’re excited to share first looks at this month’s activities with our community and keep them updated with essential information as summer transitions into fall.

Reminder: starting on October 1, Coastal Trash & Recycling will be Coral Springs’ new solid trash collection service provider. Although there shouldn’t be any service interruption as a result of the provider switch, some residents might notice a change in the day and time of bulk, recycling, and trash pickup. CoralSprings.gov/CoastalUpdates is the recommended website for residents to examine the updated maps and routes.

Suicide Awareness Month is in September. Our mission at this time is to dispel the stigma associated with mental health and inspire people who require assistance to get it. The 9-8-8 helpline is an essential tool for connecting people who are thinking about self-harm with prompt support.

The Northwest Regional Library (3151 N University Dr.) will host a Remembrance Ceremony on Monday, September 11 at 8:30 a.m. in honor of the fallen heroes and victims who tragically lost their lives on September 11. The terrible incidents that occurred and their long-lasting effects on our nation and community are things we will never forget.

See what the Parks & Recreation Department has to offer by coming! As part of our Family Fun Night series, we will have a Recreation Expo on Wednesday, September 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Coral Springs Gymnasium (2501 Coral Springs Drive). Register for programs, get to know coaches and instructors, have fun in the bounce house, and more.

Our community’s youngest citizens’ safety is of utmost importance. On Saturday, September 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department will host a car seat installation event at the City Hall Parking Garage (9500 W. Sample Road). There will be certified car seat installers available to respond to inquiries and fit new or used car seats correctly.

Come on, let’s dance! As part of the Move with the Mayor series, locals can join Commissioner Nancy Metayer Bowen on Saturday, September 28, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Mullins Hall (10170 NW 29th St) for a fun Zumba dance session.

You can find all the event information at CoralSprings.gov/Events.

On Thursday, September 12 at 5:15 p.m., there will be the first Budget Hearing for FY2025. At 6:30 p.m., there will be a regular Commission Meeting. On Wednesday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m., the final adoption of the budget will take place. This will be followed by the normal Commission meeting.
