After placing a hidden camera, the pet sitter was discovered to be watching more than just the dog

Coral Springs, Florida – After returning from a work trip and finding a hidden camera in the bathroom, the dogsitter’s employer has detained and accused him of video voyeurism.
A woman came forward stating she had contacted Jonathan Edward King, 35, of Coral Springs, to ask for help walking and feeding dogs while she traveled to Tampa, and on July 8 a warrant was issued for King’s arrest, according to the records.
On June 23, King consented to assist and was granted entry to the victim’s home while she was away. When the victim came back the following day, she saw a little black camera hidden beneath a towel inside a tiny black box in the corner of her jacuzzi-style bathtub, which was set up to film the shower area.
The victim turned over the video for an investigation and called the police right away.
Investigators looked at the video recorded on the SD card of the camera on June 25. Two clips from the tapes showed the subject completely naked and taking a shower.
The victim met with investigators the next day and gave her identification as the person in the video. When a picture of King was also provided to her, she positively recognized him as the person who had placed the camera in her restroom.
Records show that on the day in issue, King was the only person who had access to the victim’s home, as the victim assured authorities.
Under the guidance of law enforcement, the victim and King engaged in a controlled phone conversation on June 28. King acknowledged putting the camera in the victim’s restroom during the conversation.
King later said that he installed the camera as a “prank,” despite his initial claims that he bought it as a present because there was no domestic security.
King apologized to the victim by text message the same day, saying, “Hey, I just want to say I’m sorry.” I made a mistake. Why I do things is a mystery to me. You are worthy of better. I’m not feeling well. I’ll stop bothering you.
Unrelated complaints of a strange vehicle in Coral Springs behind a closed business were received by the CSPD on July 8. When deputies conducted a standard investigation, they found that King was the driver of the vehicle and that there was an active arrest warrant for him.
King was apprehended and brought to the Main Jail of Broward County. He posted $7,500 and was later freed.
