July 15 is the date of the routine chlorination of Coral Springs drinking water

Coral Springs, Florida – You should not be concerned if your water has a slight chlorine flavor or smell; it is still safe to drink.
Water chlorination will be carried out by the City of Coral Springs Utilities & Engineering Division, Royal Waterworks, the Coral Springs Improvement District, and the North Springs Improvement District between July 15 and July 29, 2024.
According to the Department of Environmental Protection’s instructions, this temporary treatment can give tap water a chlorine flavor or odor.
Water main flushing will take place every day from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for two weeks. This can result in brief pressure changes and discolored water. The flushing procedure keeps fire hydrants operating properly and helps avoid mineral accumulation.
It is recommended that residents check the quality of the water before using it for cooking or laundry, run cold water taps for five to ten minutes if discoloration appears, speak with a doctor if receiving kidney dialysis, and ask pet stores for advice on how to care for tropical fish. To lessen the taste of chlorine, keep an open container of tap water in the refrigerator.
These adjustments are required to keep the water’s quality stable but do not pose a health risk.
