Broward Health Coral Springs celebrates Emergency Nurses Week
Coral Springs, Florida – The City of Coral Springs recognized October 13 as Emergency Nurses Day.
Mayor Scott Brook recognized over 75 emergency nurses caring for all ages and backgrounds at Broward Health Coral Springs.
According to Brook, these registered nurses care for as many as 65,000 patients annually.
“These nurses are highly trained to recognize life-threatening problems and solve them on the spot,” he added.
Vice Mayor Joshua Simmons agreed, stating emergency nurses rose to the challenge of caring for thousands of COVID-19 patients during one of the most challenging times in human history.
“The emergency nurses association, its foundation, and other groups around our country have joined together to honor the extraordinary acts of service our nurses provide every day,” said Simmons.
During Emergency Nurses Week, the proclamation was read at a special ceremony at the Broward Health Coral Springs emergency room entrance, a national observance when ER nurses are recognized for their invaluable contributions to the health of their communities.
