Coral Springs Charter students Newland, Broekelmann, and Stewart Lead both in academics and cheer

Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Springs Charter School students Kaitlyn Stewart, Cameron Broekelmann, and Alexis Newland are standouts on the cheerleading squad and in the classroom.

Coral Springs resident Newland, 17, is a senior. Her favorite subject is English, and she ranks in the top three percent of her class with a grade point average of 5.3.

Newland is a student leader who serves as the senior class’s vice president and co-captain of the cheer squad.

“We are all friends, and I love being on the cheerleading squad,” Newland remarked. She plans to attend college, and she is thinking about Florida State, the University of Florida, and the University of Central Florida.

Broekelmann is a member of eleven student organizations and cheers for the team. English is her favorite subject, and she has a 4.0 GPA. She is a Coral Springs resident and a junior who takes pride in her involvement in the Student Government Association and National Honor Society.

As a member of the NHS, she has mentored numerous students who want academic support, adding, “I love being on the cheerleading team, and we have many good times together.”

Stewart has a strong enthusiasm for cheerleading and views the team as a family. She is a Coral Springs resident, a junior with a 4.0 GPA, and a member of DECA, SGA, and the National Honor Society. She wants to go to either the University of Kentucky or the University of Florida.

These girls are school leaders who are committed to the cheerleading squad, according to Charter cheerleading coach McKenzie Palumbo, who is proud of them.
