Fire in abandoned historic home in the City of Miami
Miami, Florida – Early Sunday morning firefighters took an action to battle a large blaze in the City of Miami.
Officials said the fire occurred in an abandoned home that was built in 1918. The home, known as the Ramsey Residence and the Little Havana House, was marked as an unsafe structure by the city. The home is located at Southwest 10th Street and 13th Court and has been deemed a historic site by Miami’s Historic and Environmental Preservation Board.
According to officials, several Miami Fire Rescue units controlled the flames well into the morning but finally got the fire out at approximately 10:30 a.m. Heavy smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
