Join Temple Beth Torah Sha’aray Tzedek for their Open House and Mitzvah Day for a Day of Community, Service, and Discovery

Coral Springs, Florida – The synagogue will hold a special Open House and Mitzvah Day at 5700 NW 94th Avenue on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 10 a.m. until noon.
This event aims to give an intimate glimpse into TBTST’s dynamic life and open culture, welcoming everyone from Broward County and beyond.
This is a celebration of community and service, not just an open house. TBTST is committed to putting the Jewish precept of “love your neighbor as yourself,” found in Leviticus 19:18, into practice through a variety of mitzvahs, or good acts, and initiatives.
The synagogue takes great pleasure in being an inclusive and egalitarian Conservative community that extends a warm welcome to LGBTQ families, interfaith families, and Jews from all backgrounds.
Attendees of the Open House will have the chance to take in the stunning grounds and sanctuary, visit with TBTST educators, clergy, and leadership, and discover membership alternatives.
The synagogue provides a variety of programming, such as adult education courses and services on High Holy Days. The Educational Directors of TBTST will also be in attendance to help with school registration and to offer information about the Religious School, the Youth Group, and the Early Childhood Center.
However, the event goes beyond research and discovery. Visitors will be able to actively engage in community service during the day’s activities, which will include practical mitzvah projects.
Participants can:
– Donate blood at the Big Red Bus.
– Make pet chews for the Humane Society of Broward County.
– Bring pets to the Humane Society of Broward County Van for free vaccinations.
– Donate shoes and sneakers for Women in Distress of South Florida.
– Prepare PBJ sandwiches for Lifenet serving Families/Broward Partnership for the Homeless.
– Help clean up 94th Avenue.
– Create High Holiday cards and donate clothing for the Sandy Nininger Veterans Nursing Home.
– Assist children in making button flowers for the Daniel Cantor Center and the Veterans Nursing Home.
The essence of TBTST’s dedication to community outreach and aiding the underprivileged is embodied by these initiatives. It’s the ideal chance for people to give back to the community and build relationships with other families and individuals.
