Woman injured after boyfriend beat her in Coral Springs home
Coral Springs, Florida – Earlier this week, a couple got into a fight in a Coral Springs home over an ex-boyfriend, a police report said.
Then, the dispute turned physical when a 21-year-old man from Tamarac allegedly strangled his girlfriend of four months, pushed her to the ground, and hit her in the face with a closed fist up to five times, the report said.
Police charged Kishawn Ramsarupe with domestic battery by strangulation and battery after the attack on Royal Palm Beach Boulevard on Wednesday.
According to the report, the woman told investigators Ramsarupe grabbed her by the neck, and she couldn’t talk or breathe for nearly 10 seconds.
She suffered a cut to her face and police saw bruising and swelling on her face, the report said.
She also had a cut on her lip and scratches in her chest area, injuries that were consistent with her allegations, the report said.
Coral Springs paramedics took her to Broward Health Coral Springs for treatment.
Ramsarupe told police he “blacked out” during the attack and didn’t remember anything, but admitted to choking the woman, the report said.
