Volunteers Needed for Annual Broward County Waterway Cleanup in Coral Springs on March 2

Coral Springs, Florida – What treasures lurk beneath Coral Springs’ surface of rivers for volunteers to discover?
The Marine Industries Association of South Florida is hosting the 47th Annual Broward County Waterway Cleanup on March 2 at Riverside Park, located at 205 Coral Ridge Drive.
Volunteers discovered two automobiles and a boat submerged in the C-14 Canal on the Coral Springs–Tamarac boundary two years ago.
Volunteers will return for this year’s event between 9 and 1 p.m. to search for additional sunken automobiles, furniture, and other items, big and little, in the waterways in and around Coral Springs.
They will work at over thirty locations with volunteers from all around the county to clean up local lakes, canals, and other waterways and keep them clear of debris.
Organizers report that last year, over 1,100 volunteers of all ages, via land and 300 boats/personal watercraft, assisted in clearing 25 tons of garbage and rubbish.
