A new perspective for Maplewood Elementary leadership brought by Camille Orr

Coral Springs, Florida – The new head of Maplewood Elementary School, Camille Orr, is excited to guide the institution toward greater success. Her goal is to establish a friendly classroom where each student is made to feel valued and heard.
She wants every kid at Coral Springs School to know that their instructors and officials genuinely care about them.
“We have gifted and high achieving students and children with special needs. My goal is that this school is a place where everyone can succeed,” said Orr.
Orr has a strong commitment to aiding kids and education. She had previously served as the associate principal of Fort Lauderdale’s Dillard Elementary School from 2020 to 2024. She worked as an assistant principal at Maplewood Elementary School from 2015 to 2019 prior to that, and she claimed to have benefited immensely from the supportive mentoring she received from the principals she reported to.
“I want to help special needs students achieve all they can academically, and I want them to feel they are an important part of the Maplewood community. They have a lot to offer,” said Orr.
Orr claims that there are many of extracurricular activities available to pupils. The school has a robotics club, a gardening club, a debating team, and a running club.
She is a Jamaican native who is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership at Florida Atlantic University, where she previously obtained a specialized degree.
She also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and a master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Orr takes over for Leena Itty, who is now the principal at Coconut Creek’s Lyons Creek Middle School.
