Coral Springs, Florida – The formal start of the high school swimming season has seen four teams make an early impression.

In their season opener against Deerfield Beach High School on Wednesday, Coral Springs High School emerged victorious.

In her third year as the head coach at Coral Springs High School, Morgan Wizst says growing the squad from five swimmers to twenty has been incredible.

Wizst remarked, “I love that all of the swimmers are spreading the word and are happy to be on the team.” “They are genuinely wonderful children and teammates. In addition to our team’s growth, we also triumphed in our first swim competitions versus Deerfield Beach High School. The boys and our girls both recovered remarkably well! I am quite eager to see what the future holds.

Despite having strong swimming, Coral Springs Charter lost to Fort Lauderdale High School 192-155. The boys’ 200 medley relay team, consisting of Anthony Palumbo, John Albornoz, Brian Hamilton, and Christopher Chaison, won first place in 1:46. The Panthers won seven races overall.

Along with Alejandra Gil-Restrepo, Grace Weeks, Amanda Robins, and Mariana Montes, the girls’ 400 free relay team also triumphed. Each of the following race winners: Montes, Hamilton, Chaison, Palumbo, and John Albornoz. In addition, they had eight third-place results and fifteen second-place finishes.

Recently, Cypress Bay High School and Marjory Stoneman Douglas battled against Coral Glades. After 12 events, the meet was called off, although the boy’s team was behind the Lightning 43-25 and the Eagles 47-25. The girls’ squad fell behind Cypress Bay 53-19 and MSD 49-23.
